Former old town basketball standout

Bangor, ME – Logan Bouchard has committed to attend Husson University in the fall of 2013 and will play on the men’s basketball team. A local basketball star hailing from Old Town High School, Bouchard was a 2006 KVAC All Star, 2006 McDonald’s All Star, and received a Bangor Daily News All-State Honorable Mention in 2006. That year, as a senior, he averaged 22.5 points per game, 10 rebounds per game, and scored a career high 42 points.

“We are really excited to add Logan to our program,” said Husson’s head men’s basketball coach Warren Caruso. “We recruited him hard in 2006 and spoke with him again in 2010. He has matured and is ready to be successful in college. Logan is a gifted athlete with good basketball skills, he will be a tough match-up for teams every night.”

Bouchard spent 2007-2009 at Southwest Illinois Junior College, playing two seasons and redshirting one. He averaged nine points and five rebounds per game during his sophomore year, and he received numerous mid-level NCAA Division I offers.

Bouchard commented, “I am looking forward to going to Husson to get my education and joining the basketball program. I am excited to be able to play college basketball again and look forward to having a successful season.”

Bouchard will join a Husson team that went 20-9 last season, winning their third North Atlantic Conference Championship in five years and playing in the first round of the NCAA Division III national tournament.
